What is TIANMUN?

TIANMUN is a three-day United Nations simulation for grades 8-12.  Students from schools from all over China will work together to develop and debate innovative solutions to current world issues. TIANMUN 2020 will offer twelve different committees: General Assembly I and II, Human Rights Council, Economic and Social Council, Disarmament Commission, Environment Commission, Special Conference, European Union, United Nations Education and Scientific and Cultural Organization, Advisory Panel, Security Council, and the Chinese committee. The goal of TIANMUN is to increase students’ knowledge regarding international issues, policy making, and the activities of the United Nations. Valuable skills in public speaking, research and writing, negotiation, and powers of persuasion, leadership, organization, and interpersonal communication will also be acquired.


TIANMUN 2020, October 29th-31th. The 8th annual TIANMUN conference will begin Thursday afternoon, October 29th and will end Saturday afternoon, October 31th.  For schools traveling from outside Tianjin, TIANMUN offers a choice of two hotels with shuttles provided to and from the conference.
