Emily Ho

Greetings!

My name is Emily Ho and I am a senior from Grace International. It is my utmost pleasure to serve as a head chair for the Security Council at TIANMUN XIII.

MUN has been a formative part of my high school experience. Through it, I have sharpened my skills in articulation, negotiation, analysis, and social aptitude. I’ve learned how to focus under pressure, think on my feet (literally), accept my mistakes with humility, and extend grace and compassion to others.

Delegates, please approach this conference with a refusal to remain stagnant and an eagerness to learn from this experience regardless of whether this is your first or tenth conference. Prepare comprehensively, participate passionately, and have fun! As your chair I will support you along this journey to the best of my ability.

See you soon!

Yujian Zeng

Hello delegates!

My name is Yujian Zeng, you can call me Steven, your student officer for TIANMUN XIII. Outside MUN, you might find me dissecting /math/physics questions, analyzing models, or scribbling potential ways to solve a physics question in the margins of my notebook. My MUN journey started with trembling hands at the podium, but I soon discovered that every speech, even imperfect ones, can shape a room’s energy and atmosphere. My favorite MUN moment was when we laughed together after a midnight discussion while eating a “waimai buffet”, realizing diplomacy is about people, not just procedures. My advice is that I would ask you to be bold enough to speak up, listen deeply to others, and not fear challenges; they’re your best teachers. I’m excited to witness your creativity and courage as we debate and solve global crises together at TIANMUN XIII. Let’s make this conference one to remember!

Olivia Kwon

Hello delegates!

My name is Olivia Kwon, and I am a junior attending the International School of Qingdao. I am honored to serve you as the Deputy Chair of the Security Council at TIANMUN XIII.

When I first joined MUN, I remember feeling nervous about speaking up and unsure of the procedures. However, with each conference, I learned how valuable it is to share ideas, listen to others, and grow through debate.

I hope you all take this opportunity to challenge yourselves, whether it be by making your first speech, asking a POI, or simply engaging in discussion. Every contribution, no matter how small, adds to the experience.

As your deputy chair, I will do my best to support you and make sure you leave this conference with new confidence and lasting memories.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the conference!
