Deputy Chair
Emily Ho
Greetings delegates!
My name is Emily Ho and I am a junior attending this year’s TIANMUN with Grace International. It is my honor and pleasure to serve as your deputy chair for this year’s Security Council. TIANMUN holds a very special place in my heart: it was the first conference I attended, the first one where I won an award, and now the first one where I will participate as a chair.
The issues debated in the Security Council are fraught with complexity, and it can be a highly challenging committee, particularly for new delegates. Consequently, I encourage all delegates, regardless of your experience, to tackle preparation and debate wholeheartedly. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and remember to commit to and enjoy the process.
Finally, please do not hesitate to communicate any questions or concerns you have to me. I’m here to help!
See you in November!
Deputy Chair
Annie Liu
Hello!
I am Annie Liu, a senior from Grace International, and it is my utmost honor to be the deputy chair of Security Council. This is my 6th MUN conference and first as a chair. I would never have imagined where my MUN journey would have taken me–from being a quiet delegate who made only 3 speeches to becoming a student officer. I have learned to push myself and to see MUN not only as a chance to improve speech and debate skills but also as an opportunity to build character and to meet new students. It has given me the chance to put myself in the shoes of world leaders to try to research and solve global issues.
Whether or not you’re interested in speech or debate, I hope you will take the step to try something new because who knows where this one-time experience will take you! As chairs, we will do our best to guide you in this experience, and I know the conference will be very memorable. See you in November!
